Terms
Effective 24 October 2026
1. This is a simulation, not a prediction
The date of death, cause, family and income are computed by a model from public statistics. They do not describe any particular person. Nothing here is medical, legal or financial advice. Do not use it to make health or life decisions.
2. Content warning
It involves illness, accidents, suicide, homicide, war and poverty. We do not describe the process or show graphic images. If you would rather not meet these, tick Skip uncomfortable content at the start. If you are going through a hard time, this life is not for you — look after yourself first.
3. Age
For ages 15 and up. Under 15, please use it with a parent or guardian.
4. What you submit
Messages in the gallery are public. Do not post real names, contact details, other people's private information, or anything that harms someone. We reserve the right to delete messages and lives.
5. On originality
The text, illustrations, music and code here are original. Data comes from public UN, World Bank and WHO statistics. The idea of being born by real statistics and walking a whole life belongs to no one — you are welcome to build your own version.
6. Disclaimer
Playing the simulation is free. It is provided as is: any decision or consequence arising from using it is the user's own.
7. Fees and billing
Keeping a life is an optional one-time purchase of USD 3.99, tax included. One payment unlocks, for that life: the life film (1080x1920, no watermark, downloadable), the printable A4 album, the offline record book (HTML plus a year-by-year CSV), and a memorial page kept for the life of the service. There is no subscription, no recurring charge and no automatic renewal - you are charged once, and nothing else on the site costs money. The current price is always shown on the pricing page; a later price change only affects later purchases, never the one you already paid for.
8. Changes
If these terms change, we will announce it on this page and in the changelog 7 days in advance.
9. If the service ends
If this site closes, or the content of "keep this life" shrinks, we will announce it at least 30 days ahead on the homepage and in the changelog. On closure, anyone who bought within the previous 90 days can ask for a full refund. Videos, albums and record books already downloaded to your device stay yours.
